Sergio Romo and Ray Knight are arguing in my mentions

Ray Knight was probably voicing the opinion a lot of Nationals fans by calling out Sergio Romo on Twitter Tuesday.

What a bush league act Romo is. Michael A. Taylor is one of the finest young men I have known in this game. He Could not be more humble or respectful. Romo has always been all mouth no action. One day he’s going to Pop Off to the wrong guy.

For that reason, I decided to retweet Knight's displeasure with the Rays closer – for jawing at Michael A. Taylor (over extreme pettiness) after striking him out to end Tuesday's game – into my own personal timeline.

A short time later, one of my followers – obviously no fan of Knight's – decided to let Knight know he disagreed with his criticism of Romo. He also took the courtesy of tagging Romo into the conversation. Splendid.

So your going to talk bad about @SergioRomo54 and not tag him. Seems like your the one that is all mouth and no action. Romo has been a class act and great teammate his entire career. Also, don’t think he’s ever been arrested and charged with assault and battery.

Over the next day and a half, my mentions served as a proving ground for Knight and Romo to lob grenades at one another.

Fortunately, I wasn't alone in getting mixed up in this bizarre Twitter crossfire. 

Although this interaction took on an especially awkward feel, as Romo and Frandsen – once teammates for two seasons in San Francisco (2008-09) – have history together.
