Redskins owner Dan Snyder has "taken over the first round of the draft," a source tells 106.7 The Fan's Grant Paulsen as rumors swirl heavily about Washington moving up in the draft to select a quarterback.

The last time Snyder commandeered a first-round pick, the Redskins traded two future first-round picks along with a second-round pick to move up to No. 2, where they selected Robert Griffin III.

Just talked to a Redskins source who told me Dan Snyder has "taken over the first round of the draft."The last time that happened the Redskins traded two future No. 1's and a No. 2 to move up for Robert Griffin.

The Redskins are denying this on the record.

For what it's worth and in the interest of the Redskins' side of this...On my previous tweet: I just talked to Redskins spokesman Tony Wyllie. He says any person saying Dan Snyder has taken over the team's first round decision making is "categorically false."

Earlier Wednesday, ESPN's Dianna Russini reported the Redskins had no plans to trade for Arizona quarterback Josh Rosen and instead are targeting Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins.

The Redskins were previously believed to be one of the likeliest landing spots for Rosen if the Cardinals took Kyler Murray with the first overall pick and made Rosen available.

It now appears increasingly likely the Redskins will try to address their QB problem in the first round of the draft.

"This decision is going to come down to, and be made by, president Bruce Allen and owner Dan Snyder," Russini said on ESPN. "They're the ones making the call on where they want to go with this pick. And the name I keep hearing is Dwayne Haskins."

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo additionally reports the Redskins have explored moving into the top five. The Jets – who have quarterback Sam Darnold and pick behind the 49ers, who have Jimmy Garoppolo – are shopping the third overall pick in the draft.

If I had to bet on the Redskins' first round pick right now, I'd say they stay put and end up on the clock at 15. Wouldn't rule out a trade up after today's developments. I'd still say it is unlikely but I used to think there was zero chance.
