With the NFL season entering Week 4, don't take any chances and risk losing your second matchup. Make the smart decision and go with your gut.
Who to start, and who to sit this week in fantasy football:
Start 'Em
QB: Jared Goff, LA Rams
Opponent: vs. New York Giants
The Rams are for real. I didn't expect to be typing those five words but here we are. Jared Goff has been locked in through the first three weeks of the season and was just short of completing a comeback for the ages on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Matched up with a disappointing Giants team that is still on the hunt for their first win of the season, this one should be a walk in the park for the former No. 1 overall pick.
RB: Antonio Gibson, Washington Football Team
Opponent: vs. Ravens
The Washington Football team is in danger of dropping its third-straight game on Sunday when they host the Baltimore Ravens at FedEx Field. Antonio Gibson has been one of the few bright spots on offense for Washington and should be a focal point due to the lack of playmakers Dwayne Haskins has at his disposal. The Ravens struggled to contain the Chiefs' backfield on Monday night and Gibson should be primed to capitalize.
WR: Allen Lazard, Green Bay Packers
Opponent: vs. Falcons
The Packers have come out of the gates clicking on all cylinders. With Davante Adams banged up against the Saints, Aaron Rodgers relied on Allen Lazard as his number one pass-catching option and the latter did not disappoint. Lazard hauled in six receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown against a good Saints secondary on Sunday Night Football and now has eight days to prepare for the Atlanta Falcons, who have blown back-to-back games in which it led by 15 or more points (the first team in NFL history to do so).
The Falcons' secondary allowed 316 yards from the Bears receiving corps in Week 3, and 450 receiving yards from the Cowboys' unit in Week 2. This is going to be a high-scoring affair, and if Adams plays, look for Lazard to still have a large role. If Adams is ruled out, Lazard is going to feast.
TE: Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins
Opponent: vs. Seahawks
The Dolphins face Russell Wilson and the Seahawks in Week 4 and Mike Gesicki will be hearing his name called quite a lot. Ryan Fitzpatrick should look to get the former Penn State star involved early against a Seattle secondary that has not been able to stop opposing pass-catchers, allowing a league-high 430.7 passing yards per game.
Sit 'Em
QB: Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles
Opponent: at San Francisco 49ers
Something is wrong in Philadelphia. Carson Wentz has regressed and it has the Eagles on the verge of finishing the first quarter of the NFL season without a win. The Eagles' season-opening loss to Washington caught the league by surprise. After three weeks, it's no longer a surprise. Even against a depleted 49ers defense, find another option. Wentz has turned the ball over at least twice in every game this season. Dallas Goedert is expected to miss time with an injury, Zach Ertz hasn't played well, and Greg Ward Jr. is currently the top option at wide receiver heading into Week 4.
RB: Rex Burkhead, New England Patriots
Opponent: at Kansas City Chiefs
Do not trust Patriots running backs. That's the rule. From Jonas Gray to LeGarrette Blount, to Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead, you cannot trust New England running backs. Burkhead may have scored nearly 35 FPTS in Week 3, but if you think Bill Belichick is going to run the same game plan in back-to-back weeks, you will not like the outcome.
WR: All Tennessee Titans Receivers
Opponent: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Titans are currently barred from their training facility after a small COVID outbreak that will prevent them from doing anything non-virtual until at least Monday. The team's Week 4 matchup with the Steelers has been postponed to at least Monday night, with the option of Tuesday night a possibility. The NFL is going to do everything in its power to get these games played, but in terms of your fantasy teams, that is the least of their concerns.
The only consistent pass-catcher thus far for the Titans is TE Jonnu Smith. While Corey Davis has scored in double figures in all three games, against a stout Steelers defense — with the possibility of A.J. Brown returning to the mix, combined with the fact that the team might not play — if you wait until Tuesday night and the game gets moved, you are SOL.
UPDATE: Steelers-Titans has been postponed until a date-to-be-determined later in the season. All the more reason to make sure no Titans receivers are in your lineup!
TE: Jimmy Graham, Chicago Bears
Opponent: vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Bears may be undefeated as we head into Week 4, but they are now matching up against the best defense in the National Football League, the Indianapolis Colts. Jimmy Graham had a monster outing in Week 3 against the Falcons with six receptions for 60 yards and two touchdowns, but do not expect that type of success to continue against a Colts unit that has allowed the fewest points to opposing tight ends this season.
