Could Giants AND Browns both trade out of Top 3? Seems it all depends on one possible quarterback fascination
Grant & Danny are kind of flabbergasted, in different ways, that both the Browns and the Giants could be looking to trade out of the No. 2 and No. 3 picks, respectively, in Thursday's Round 1 of the NFL Draft, given how bad their franchises have been lately.
Here's a kicker Sam Bruchhaus gave them in a visit on Tuesday, however: what if Cleveland knows what they covet, but also what the Giants covet, and tries to make a deal to have their cake and eat it too?
Then again, if the Browns do want Travis Hunter but aren't 100 percent sold, and/or the Giants don't covet Shedeur Sanders but do like other quarterbacks, other teams could benefit there…in theory.
"I'm kind of the mind that no one really knows what's going to happen, because it seems like a Class of One, and Travis Hunter," Bruchhaus said. "There's questions about guys like Abdul Carter, Will Campbell, Mason Graham, even Ashton Jeanty, and in something we haven't seen since maybe the Daniel Jones draft, there's another big gap between Cam Ward and Sanders, and then you go to Day 2 with big gaps between the quarterback, which leads to so much uncertainty. Our boss, Thomas Dimitroff, has felt the quarterback pressure, and he said he thinks teams are gonna pull the trigger when the time is right, whether that's trading up to get a guy at the back of the first round or just selecting him with their pick. Everyone is operating with a degree of uncertainty, and they're really gonna have to bet on their analytics teams and their evaluators to get a sense of the availability of these quarterbacks if they want to try to grab one."
