It’s Miro coming back, as the Washington Capitals announced Wednesday they have recalled forward Ivan Miroshnichenko from AHL Hershey, and placed Alex Ovechkin on injured reserve.

Miroshnichenko, 20, has seven goals and seven assists in 16 games with Hershey this season, and he is tied for sixth in the AHL with 46 shots.

The No. 20 overall pick in 2022 made his NHL debut last December and appeared in 21 games, notching two goals and four assists, and he played in the Caps’ playoff series with the Rangers, becoming the first member of the 2022 Draft class to appear in the postseason.

Miroshnichenko also played 47 games with Hershey last year, scoring nine goals and 16 assists with a plus-15 rating, and he had seven goals in the Bears’ run to a second straight Calder Cup.
