These are the two goals Ovi scored in the Capitals' first eight games in of the season in October 2023.
Career Goal Number: 823
After collecting two assists but no goals in his first four games of the season, Ovi got off the snide with a late consolation goal in the Caps' 4-1 defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs. But in addition to tallying his first of the 2023-24 NHL season, Ovechkin got the 300th power-play goal of his career, the first player in history to get to that round number.
Career Goal Number: 824
Ovechkin followed up with his first two-point game on the next night with a goal and assist as Washington started a three-game winning streak with a huge comeback 6-4 win at the New Jersey Devils. Ovi got his second tally of the season with an empty-net goal.
