If you were judging by his Friday evening Instagram post, there's little doubt that he plans to be back on the field in 2023.

"Excited for next season!" Tua said on IG.

But a corresponding post on Twitter was decidedly less clear.

"When one chapter ends, another begins," the tweet said. "Proud of this last one, excited for the next one!"

Several Twitter users were confused by the book metaphor. Was Tua's "next" chapter a new career, or perhaps even a new team?

Some even joked about the unusual choice of photos accompanying the post.

In one of them, Tua appears to be standing in front of a bright flash of what seems to be a pregame pyrotechnics display.

If the Instagram post is to be believed, then it certainly seems like Tua is content on at least playing again, and probably with the Dolphins.

Earlier this week, head coach Mike McDaniel said he was preparing to go into the 2023 campaign with Tua under center. Later, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Tua was intent on playing again, and that he was expected to have medical clearance to do so. Both of those developments would seem to point toward Tua returning to the Fins for a fourth season.

The former Alabama star missed the final two games of the regular season and his team's loss to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs after suffering his second of two documented concussions this season. He also appeared to be out on his feet in a third, separate incident earlier this season, though he was officially diagnosed with a sore back and neck.
