Lamar Jackson won the NFL MVP Award on Thursday night, and on Friday, when Maryland Gov. Wes Moore joined BMitch & Finlay for their final weekly winners segment, Lamar won again: Sunday will be Lamar Jackson Day in the state of Maryland!

Yes, it’s also Super Bowl Sunday and Lamar isn’t there, which led the Governor to joke “I totally forgot about that – if there’s another game going on, I’m sure other people will watch it!”

Moore backed up his AFC QB only getting 49 of 50 first-place votes and said the one who voted for Josh Allen ‘needs to lose their ability to vote’ – but all jokes aside, he’s not surprised Lamar was near-unanimous.

“He had one of the most dominating years that we have seen in a very long period of time,” Moore said. “We’re literally talking about someone who threw for like 24 passing touchdowns, five rushing touchdowns, the most rushing yards for any quarterback…the most dominating player. He's the one player that when you are getting ready to play against him, your entire defense has to come up with schemes, and there's no way you can prepare that week to prepare for Lamar Jackson. You continue to watch him being underestimated, you continue to watch benchmarks being moved for him, and he continues to exceed them. He was by far the league MVP this year.”

JP thought that if anyone else was getting votes it should be Christian McCaffrey, and Moore agreed that the 49ers RB is ‘the truth’ – and that led into a discussion about Brock Purdy, and how he should NOT have been in the conversation?
