Grant & Danny are ALL IN on MLB using the automated balls and strikes challenge system

Baseball's challenge system for balls and strikes was in play this past weekend, as it was available for the Spring Breakout games played by all 30 teams.

Grant Paulsen is VERY in favor of the system, especially after seeing how quickly and easily it worked, and Danny, well, anything that takes less time than the norm works for him.

"My biggest issue with MLB's challenge system is that the umpire looks in the dugout, the manager stands on the top step with his hand up waiting for a guy on the phone, and it take forever," Danny said. "To me, here's what it should be: bad call, you come out and say I'm challenging, then get moving. Bang, right away. The holdup and delay interrupts the game. This? It doesn't interrupt anything. It's perfect. Adopt it immediately!"

"Here's how far I've come round on the challenge system – it's my way to meet you in the middle," GP said. "If you like the human element and calls being wrong, this is my olive branch. Give me three challengers per game to use judiciously, like they do in Triple-A, but this is an agreement we can all have."
