There’s a new spring football league coming this year, the merger of two old re-activated ones with the same name and initials as another defunct one – got that?

Indeed, the USFL and XFL have merged, and the new United Football League begins play this spring, with the DC Defenders one of the eight teams who will take the field starting March 30, in now their third incarnation after being part of both the 2020 and 2023 reboots of the XFL.

Daryl Johnston, the former Cowboys fullback and FOX NFL analyst, is the head of football operations for the league, and he stopped by Radio Row to chat with Grant & Danny Wednesday about the merger, and what it means for those looking to springboard to, or back to, the NFL!
