We’ve seen collapses and/or late runs on the PGA Tour for years now, although Sunday’s comeback win for Viktor Hovland at The Memorial may have been one of the best (and worst, for Denny McCarthy) we’ve seen in quite some time – McCarthy, who had never won in 154 starts on the PGA Tour, had a two-stroke lead going into 16 on Sunday, and ended up losing in a playoff to go 0-for-155, bogeying 18 twice in a row to first lose a one-stroke lead, and then the tournament.
One who felt that viscerally in his soul? Jason Bishop, who was watching live as McCarthy melted down on the two biggest holes of his career and Hovland went on to his fourth PGA Tour win and first on actual U.S.
soil. Take a listen to Lurch’s scathing reaction below!
