Lamar Jackson reveals he requested a trade from Ravens in early March

On Friday, Will Brinson joined JP Finlay on BMitch & Finlay and lamented that Lamar Jackson has made his current contract situation murkier by not expressly saying what he wanted or was feeling.

“He hasn’t made what he wants clear. If he just came out and said exactly what he wanted, that might change the way we view it,” Brinson said. “I think he’s doing himself a disservice the way he’s clouding things. Us not knowing what he wants, and him Tweeting things, has really conflated the issue.”

Well, on Monday, Jackson finally satisfied Brinson, and everyone else’s, wishes by laying it all out on that Twitter account, revealing in the biggest bombshell that he requested a trade from the Ravens earlier this month during a multi-Tweet thread.

“In regards to my future plans. As of March 2nd I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens has not been interested in meeting my value,” Jackson Tweeted in part of the thread.

He started the monologue by thanking fans for their love and support, and urging the fans “not to believe everything you read about me.” And, in the third and final Tweet, after the trade demand bombshell, he once again praised Baltimore’s fans.

“Any and everyone that’s has met me or been around me know I love the game of football and my dream is to help a team win the Super Bowl.
You all are great but I had to make a business decision that was best for my family and I,” he said. “No matter how far I go or where my career takes me, I’ll continue to be close to my fans of Baltimore Flock nation and the entire State of Maryland. You’ll See me again.”

Brinson had said he thinks the ultimate outcome is Jackson playing one or two years on the franchise tag in Baltimore and then hitting free agency, although with this now out in the open, Jackson’s future is, perhaps, cloudier than ever.
