Manny Machado will not be opting out of his contract after all.
The All-Star third baseman and San Diego Padres agreed to an 11-year, $350 million contract extension, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Earlier this month, Machado was adamant that he intended to opt out of his contract and become a free agent at the end of the season, telling reporters “there’s a lot of money out there.”
Those comments certainly got the attention of the Padres as Machado now owns the fourth-largest contract in baseball,
The 30-year-old is coming off a 2022 season in which he was the runner-up in the NL MVP voting, slashing .298/.366/.531 with 32 home runs, 102 RBI and an .898 OPS.
