Dylan Crews tells G&D that fellow LSU alum Jayden Daniels would be 'a perfect fit' in DC

Dylan Crews got a taste of playing in a professional stadium in DC on Tuesday, something he told Grant & Danny prior to the Nats gala Tuesday night was an “awesome” experience.

“That was awesome. First time playing there for me, getting a feel for everything, you know, the outfield and the backdrop for a hitter,” Crews said. “It took a little bit to kind of get acclimated, we took a lot of fly balls in practice and pre-game but it's a little weird out there to be honest with the sun and things, but after getting acclimated, it plays as true as it does out there. So it was awesome to get out there and get acclimated, and facing big league guys, it was a cool experience.”

Crews is headed back to Double-A Harrisburg to start the year, but come September, he may be back in DC for the stretch run – and coming from LSU, he knows the Commanders have the No. 2 pick, and could be looking at a fellow former Tiger to be their selection as their next QB.

And make no mistake: Crews would love to see Jayden Daniels in burgundy and gold.

“We've talked a couple times, and I really hope he does (come to DC). That'd be pretty cool,” Crews said. “Amazing talent. For a dual-threat guy that can run the ball and sling it like he does, I think it would be a perfect fit for here.”

LSU has quite the network of emerging pro talent, from Crews and Daniels and 2023 No. 1 pick Paul Skenes and a pair of likely Top 10 wideouts, and on over to hoops star Angel Reese – a likely Top 3 pick if she leaves LSU this year, and maybe No. 1 next year, in the WNBA Draft – and NIL darling gymnast Livvy Dunne, so having two in DC would indeed be ‘pretty cool.’
