Jayson Werth hoping for better showing in this year's Kentucky Derby with Flying Mohawk

Jayson Werth is gonna spend his weekend in Louisville, and he’s gonna be betting heavily on a 30-1 horse to win the Kentucky Derby…because that horse is his! Flying Mohawk, a colt he is the majority owner of, is in the Run for the Roses on Saturday, making it two years in a row that Werth has a pony in the biggest race in the sport.

He’s surely hoping for better results than he had last year with Dornoch, the brother of 2023 Derby champion Mage, who paid of Werth’s 10 percent stake with a tenth-place finish – but hey, this time, he knows it’s more of a shot in the dark with his new baby.

And, in true Werth fashion, when he was talking to Grant & Danny about the horse and the race on Thursday…he apparently found another way to make Mets fans mad at him!
