Mike Rizzo's Foundation to buy fans a 'Round on Riz' on Monday at two locations

Not as joyous as Burgundy and Sold, but still, a party to celebrate the end of a DC sports era is coming on Monday.

Former Nats GM Mike Rizzo announced Friday morning, via his RizKids: The Rizzo Family Foundation’s social media channels, that as a thank you for supporting him for 19 years, fans can grab a ‘Round on Riz’ on Monday at either the Penn Quarter Sports Tavern or Walter’s Sports Bar.

The offer is good from 5-7 p.m., ahead of the MLB Home Run Derby, for one beer per customer – and, surely, it’s not an accident that the two locations are right near D.C.’s two major sports venues.

“Cheers to an incredible ride!” captioned the posts, which contained a thank you message from Rizzo that read, in part: “From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every fan who has supported my goal to lead this franchise to greatness with integrity, honesty, and professionalism.”

RizKids - The Rizzo Family Foundation was founded by Mike and his wife Jodi, and the Foundation is “committed to strengthening our community by making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of children and their families who are in need of educational, physical, emotional, and/or financial assistance.”
