The Washington Nationals have traded LHP Jake Eder to the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash considerations.
Eder, 27, was designated for assignment over the weekend when the Nats acquired Curtis Mead from the White Sox. The southpaw was acquired at last year’s trade deadline and threw seven minor-league innings, and he was scheduled to begin the season at Triple-A Rochester prior to being DFA.
To make room on their 40-man roster, the Dodgers moved RHP Jake Cousins, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, to the 60-day injured list.
