Rangers trade 1B Nathaniel Lowe to Nationals for LHP Robert Garcia

The Texas Rangers traded World Series-winning first baseman Nathaniel Lowe to the Washington Nationals in exchange for left-handed reliever Robert Garcia, the Rangers announced Sunday.

ESPN's Jeff Passan was the first to report the trade.

In four seasons with the Rangers, Lowe hit .274 with 78 home runs and 299 RBI. He won a Silver Slugger in 2022 and a Gold Glove in 2023 to go along with the club's first championship in franchise history.

By trading Lowe, the Rangers will move forward with Jake Burger, who was acquired in a trade this winter with the Miami Marlins, as their first baseman in 2025.

Garcia, 28, is 5-8 with a 4.03 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP in 91.2 innings.
