AFC South opponents of the Texans are doing something that reaches far beyond competition.
The Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans are supporting the Texans and city of Houston with a $100,000 joint donation to the winter storm relief fund, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
In addition, the NFL Foundation is matching the donation, totaling $200,000 for relief efforts in Houston and Harris County.
Earlier in the week, the McNair family and the Texans Foundation donated $500,000. The McNairs and former Texans Travis Johnson and Chester Pitts also provided hot meals to community members affected by last week's storm.
The former Texans players also hosted food trucks at four additional locations.
Texans CEO Cal McNair expressed gratitude for the support from the AFC South opponents and the NFL Foundation.
"I am very proud that our division and the NFL consistently act as one team with one mission – take care of each other," McNair said, per Wilson. "This is part of who we are."
