College football has been the big story this week, but quietly the NFL has been ramping up training camps all over the country.
There is optimism around the league that they will be able to get a full season in according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, who joined The Joe Rose Show on 560 The JOE in Miami on Thursday.
“I think at this point, and it’s always subject to change so you may want to ask me next week, right now I think they are going to get them all in, they are determined to,” Florio said. He also said he spoke to a source with “significant influence” who said, "We are playing, period."
As far as what is happening in the college ranks, Florio thinks that the NFL will have a tough time dealing with conferences playing in both the fall and the spring.
“A split season is a worst-case scenario for the NFL," Florio said. "I don’t know how the NFL threads this needle. I think the NFL prefers all in the fall or all in the spring.”
