It hasn't been the smoothest of seasons for Eagles running back Miles Sanders, but that also hasn't exactly been his fault. After all, Nick Sirianni seemed to really tap into the Eagles' true colors as a team that lives and dies by running the football... after Sanders went down to injury in Week 7. In those first seven weeks of the season, Philly averaged 116.7 yards per game on the ground, which was not particularly impressive relative to the output of some other teams.

Following Sanders' injury, something snapped into place, and the Birds averaged 209.3 rushing yards per game over their next three games in his absence. Go figure. Luckily, though, the third-year Penn State product has been able to get in on the action since returning, and he was the focal point of the attack in Week 13 against the Jets.

Sanders rumbled for 120 yards on a career-high 24 carries, adding 22 more yards through the air after reeling in all three of his targets. It was a super productive day for Sanders, who picked up chunk after chunk and added on a few longer gains to put an exclamation point on the strong showing.

For his effort, Sanders was rewarded with an overall Pro Football Focus grade of 80.9, which topped all 38 eligible running backs of the week that received at least six rushing attempts. His running grade, a 77.6, ranked second only to Tony Pollard and Sony Michel.

Backfield companion Kenneth Gainwell, who picked up 87 total yards and a touchdown on 17 touches, was also very productive in the box score. However, PFF graded him at 61.7, good for No. 17 on the list.

Sanders came up hobbled by the end of the Week 13 game, so the bye week comes at the right time, and he's expected to be ready to go when the Eagles retake the field for what could be a crucial matchup against the Washington Football Team on December 19.
