The Washington Redskins wasted no time in replacing left tackle Trent Williams.
The Redskins selected tackle Saahdiq Charles out of LSU with the second pick of Round 4 (108th overall) just moments after news broke announcing Williams' departure via a trade.
And the challenge of replacing the seven-time Pro Bowl left tackle is not something Charles is afraid of.
"I love Trent Williams, man. That's probably my favorite player," Charles told RADIO.COM Sports earlier this offseason at the NFL Scouting Combine. "He's physical. He's nasty. He can run. He can move. He can bend. All the attributes I kind of identify myself with."
Charles, who measured 6-foot 4 and 321 pounds, left after his junior year at LSU, but is not without some issues: A failed drug test in college.
However, once the Bengals passed on Charles with the first pick of the round, the Redskins finalized the deal with the 49ers to end the Williams saga and draft his replacement.
