This was SUCH a great bit.
The Sports Junkies recently learned that 106.7 The Fan sports anchor Savannah McCann never learned how to ride a bike.
So EB, the strong father figure that he is, stepped in to teach her.
JP: If EB's gonna push her from the seat, he better watch where his hands go.
Cakes: We talked about that yesterday. Make sure you've seen all your compliance videos, signed off on all of those.
At this point, EB and Savannah connected to the studio remotely from an open field near the radio station.
EB: Alright, now Savannah, as the guys were saying... I've watched all my compliance videos. Do I have permission to put my hand on your back? And I'm gonna touch maybe the handlebars.
Savannah: I give you permission. If I'm falling, please stop me from falling.
EB: Okay. I could be your grandfather, probably.
JP: Savannah, how nervous are you?
Savannah: I'm pretty nervous. Especially because somebody just yelled out, 'You got this, Savannah!' and then went into an office building.
EB: I properly prepared the bike. I've got the seat very, very low. Both feet are firmly on the ground.
Cakes: Keep your feet on the ground, Savannah!
This brings us to Savannah's first attempt.
EB: Alright, so now we're walking. We're walking. Now put your feet on the pedals. Put your feet on the pedals. Start pedaling! Pedal fast!
Savannah: Oh God, so bumpy! It's so bumpy!
EB: No, it's okay. Hold on. Pedal fast now.
Savannah: Oh my God! Oh my God! It's so bumpy!
EB: No, pedal fast. Pedal fast! Alright, I'm gonna let you go. SHE'S RIDING A BIKE! SHE'S RIDING A BIKE! Now take a big wide turn! A very wide turn!
Cakes: That's a success! She's doing it!
EB: Okay. Alright. That was pretty good.
Bish: She did pretty good!
EB: How does that feel?
Savannah: Bumpy.
EB: Hey, did I teach her how to ride a bike? I taught her how to ride a bike.
Savannah continued to find more and more success with each attempt.
EB: Drabby, I taught her how to ride a bike! I TOLD YOU I COULD DO IT! SHE'S RIDING A FRICKING BIKE!
A huge congrats is in order for Savannah for facing her fears, and of course to The Big Silly for believing in himself as a bike-riding instructor.
EB: Do you think you kind of can do it now?
Savannah: Totally. Straight lines are so easy.
Cakes: Now she's got cycling arrogance! I like this. I'm a fan of this.
