After an embarrassing loss to the Tennessee Titans, Tyrann Mathieu allegedly turned to Titans fans to "sit on a d***" after the Chiefs' loss Sunday. The Honey Badger has responded to these reports and called it ‘straight-up lies.’
The report comes from a local reporter who tweeted that he and a photographer overheard the All-Pro safety unleash his frustrations out on fans on his way to the locker room after K.C.'s 27-3 defeat at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
Mathieu was quick to deny the allegation and went to Twitter to call the report a ‘lie’ and added in another tweet that he ‘can’t believe this dude lied on me.”
Harold Kuntz, the local reporter who tweeted out what he alleged to have heard on the field, regrets tweeting about the situation, but is still standing strong on his claims.
"I am standing by what I heard, but I should not have tweeted it, in hindsight," Kuntz said. "It was a frustrating game but should not have shared that info on social. For this, I apologize."
It’s understandable how frustrated Mathieu would be after an abysmal offensive performance from the Chiefs. Mathieu recorded six tackles in the game, but it didn’t help much. Now at just 3-4 this season, the Chiefs' Super Bowl hopes are seeming less and less likely as they head back home to take on a 2-5 Giants team on Monday Night Football.
