Barstool Nate sees 2023 Commanders through positive lens: 'We knew this season was a wash'

Barstool Nate joins BMitch & Finlay every week, and it seems his mood goes as the Commanders go the Sunday before…so yeah, Eric was a little down on the day after Christmas, especially being in rainy Florida.

However, he thought he had a great solution to how to look at the Commanders’ season.

“So we’re 4-11, it has been a terrible season, a lot of bad things have happened – but that being said, we came into this season knowing Dan Snyder was gone, and two decades worth of dirt, grime, and filth wasn’t going to be washed off this organization overnight. You cannot go from the worst franchise in professional sports to a good franchise, never mind a great franchise, overnight, so I take that into account when I think about how things shape shook out this season. It’s been a disaster of a season, top to bottom, no denying that, but we just have to get through the next two weeks, and then we can judge if real change is made.”

That’s not to say Nate is apathetic, as he admits he’s angry it got to the point where Ron Rivera has made this franchise worse over the last four years, but he wants to remain optimistic as the Harris Group really gets the process started in a couple weeks.

And, whenever new GM and coach get here and have what looks like now a Top 3 pick – hopefully, even though Nate never roots for losses – the mission is clear; BMitch looked at the current playoff teams and looked at their QBs, and it ranges from No. 1 all the way to Mr. Irrelevant, so draft position is somewhat overrated…but in the Top 3, the choice is only based on who goes 1 and 2.

"Take a QB at No. 3, sorry Sam Howell,” Nate said. “Take the next UNC QB, Drake Maye, if he’s there, although it's really hard to pass up Jayden Daniels."
