After his Dolphins finished a very disappointing 8-9 season with a loss to the Jets at MetLife Stadium Sunday, Tyreek Hill seemed to intimate that he was looking to get out of Miami, saying ‘there are a lot of things I need to reassess about my career’ and ‘I have to do what’s best for me and my family, whether that’s here or elsewhere – it was great playing here, but I’m opening that door.’
Hill’s contract is insane, as he’s got a $28.7 million cap hit next year and then $51.9 million in 2026 (with a $15.56 million dead cap hit if he’s cut), so any team that would look to acquire him would surely do so knowing they’re hamstrung somehow in ’26.
That said, Hill would improve just about any team’s receiving corps, let alone the Commanders, so could maybe a contending Washington team be a fit? Maybe, but if you ask BMitch & Finlay, the idea of Hill in DC is a hard pass.
“Nope, and I’ll tell you why,” Brian said. “I think he’s extremely talented, but once you get to where your new profile picture is Antonio Brown, I don’t wanna deal with that. He’s a bad ass, but something’s going on with him.”
Brian is referring to Hill changing his profile photo on X to a pic of his face imposed on the body of the shirtless Antonio Brown leaving the Bucs mid-game, and yeah, not a great look.”
“No thanks,” JP replied. “He’s undeniably a gifted ball player, but no thanks.”
“If we have to go and give stuff away for him? No,” Jeff Walker added. “He may want to come to us once he comes free, but we’re a prize destination now, we’re not desperate for nobody, so I’m cool where we’re at and letting things fall in place how the front office wants. So as far as Tyreek, nah, I’m good on that.”
One last chance for Landphill to save the Tyreek to DC bandwagon, and…
“No,” Andrew Mullins said flatly, with JP then laughing and saying:
“That’s about the response I was expecting! I don’t know how that’s gonna end up, but my gut says it doesn’t end well.”
