Charlie Batch was already impressed with Jayden Daniels before the Commanders marched into Detroit and took out the NFC’s No. 1 seed a few weeks back, and he only came away more fascinated after seeing that – a result he was “shocked” by, but “Washington didn’t blink and nothing fazed them.”
Daniels is the likely winner of the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award when NFL Honors takes place on Thursday night, and when Batch joined BMitch & Finlay live on Radio Row Wednesday, he was still crowing about Jayden's freshman campaign.
“I’m a huge fan of him., and when I was on the show last time, seeing him from the early months, to November against Pittsburgh, and ultimately against the Lions, he’s as advertised,” Batch said. “When you look at Washington and the fans that are around there, they should be excited about what you have in the future, because you hit on your first-round pick. And when you do that, you build around it, and players are gonna want to play with this guy, knowing that he has the opportunity to continue to prevail and elevate in that particular manner. So when you see what he's looking to do, now that he’s gonna have an opportunity in the offseason to look back – when you look at what he did in Year 1 to Year 2, it’s gonna do nothing but get better for him.”
