The Commanders have signed kicker Zane Gonzalez to the practice squad, a move made as Austin Seibert continues to deal with a hip issue.
Seibert showed up on the injury report as a DNP Wednesday due to the hip and was limited in practice both Thursday and Friday, so he is questionable for Sunday. He has made 25-of-27 field goals – including seven in the Week 2 win over the Giants – and all 22 of his PAT attempts this year.
Gonzalez, 29, last appeared in a regular-season game in 2021 with the Panthers, although he has twice worked out for the Jets as they’ve tried to solve their kicking woes. He has an 80.5 percent field goal percentage and 94.8 percent PAT conversion rate in 63 games from 2017-21 with Cleveland, Arizona, and Carolina.
The Commanders will also be without RB Brian Robinson Jr.
and newly-added cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who both have hamstring injuries, and tackle Cornelius Lucas, who is out once again with an ankle issue.
