Another change at kicker for the Commanders: Austin Seibert has been placed on injured reserve, and the team has re-signed running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. to take his place on the 53-man roster.

Seibert missed Weeks 10 and 11 against Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with a hip injury, watching as fill-in Zane Gonzalez made all three of his FG attempts and all for PATs. He returned Sunday against Dallas but missed two PATs and a field goal – after he had missed just one PAT and one field goal attempt all year – and perhaps crushed the Commanders’ hopes of a win with his kicking meltdown in the final minutes.

Gonzalez will likely be elevated from the practice squad to kick in Sunday’s game against the Titans, but that would be his last eligible elevation – so even with the bye following that game, the Commanders will either have to sign Gonzalez to the 53 or find another kicker to sign to the practice squad and elevate for their games against the Saints and Eagles before Christmas.
