Commanders select Ole Miss DB Trey Amos with No. 61 overall pick in 2025 NFL Draft

With the No. 61 overall pick in Round 2, their only pick of the night as of making it, the Washington Commanders selected Ole Miss DB Trey Amos.

The pick was announced by the legendary Gary Clark, a two-time Super Bowl Champion and four-time Pro Bowler in his time in DC.

Amos was a First Team All-SEC selection last year for Ole Miss, notching 50 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 13 pass breakups, which was second in FBS. That was his only season in Oxford, as he had transferred from Alabama – where he played all 14 games as a reserve in 2023 – after spending his first three seasons at Louisiana.

His NFL.com draft profile gave him a prospect grade of 6.35, which is ‘will eventually be a plus starter,’ and his NextGen Stats Combine score of 73 was 11th among cornerbacks.
