The post-June 1 roster movement has begun around the NFL, and the Commanders made their first roster move on Tuesday, releasing WR Ja’Corey Brooks and adding TE Anthony Firkser.
Firkser has appeared in 85 NFL Games over eight seasons since going undrafted out of Harvard, spending time with the Lions, Chiefs, Jets, Falcons, and Titans, as well as a training camp with the Pats in 2023. He has 123 career receptions for 1,260 yards and five touchdowns.
Brooks was a UDFA out of Louisville last season and flashed in Commanders camp. He spent all of last season on the practice squad and was signed to a reserve/futures contract in January.
