ESPN is reporting that the Jon Gruden email leak was the final straw that made Dan Snyder decide to sell the Commanders – as the league had found out about them during an investigation into Snyder, and everything snowballed, with Snyder reportedly showing them to the league to deflect from his own misgivings.
Doc Walker, who played for the Commanders well before the Snyder era, and Scott Jackson were in for BMitch & Finlay Wednesday, and Doc had this to say about the story by Don Van Natta and Seth Wickersham:
“It’s basically their whole history: liars, cheaters, and thieves lie, cheat, and steal, so this does not faze me in the slightest,” Doc said. “It’s their behavior, and they finally stepped on themselves, and have to deal with it. He could’ve been free and clear, but for how long? He was only free and clear of competent leadership, as he turned an asset into a liability…we’re asking the crooks now to be honest, and then we pat them on the back? They’re still crooks, and it’s still an injustice in itself, because it’s a scam.”
Doc & Scott then went into how it was scary that Snyder was almost free and clear, and only Jim Irsay would put his name on any negative press, and where the Mary Jo White report is hiding.
