It’s time to Howl for Howell, and that’s exactly what Fred Smoot was doing when he called into BMitch & Finlay on a Week 6 victory Monday!
See, Brian and JP started a new thing on Monday: the next weekday show after a Commanders win, people can call in and howl for Howell after wins – and it seems everyone wanted Smoot to be the first one to do it, so they put out the signal, and Freddy responded!
“I listen to y'all every day and I heard what y'all said, and we gotta be excited about the young wolf!” Smoot said. “I would really love for the next game against the Eagles, the guys that had the German Shepherd masks, I would love for us to show up with wolk masks on, especially the guys in Sam Howell jerseys, and just howl every time he drop a dime!”
JP and Brian were feeling it, especially since, as Smoot noted, the expectations from anyone outside the Commanders’ fan base was zero, but now, he’s got the best passing line through six games of any quarterback in Washington history.
“So when we look at his ups and downs, and we go through his growing pains with him, we need to sit back and appreciate what this youngster is doing,” Smoot said. “This is what happens when people ain't used to something; they don't know how to treat it, but we are watching him grow right in front of our eyes!”
Take a listen to Smoot’s entire call-in above, where he also talks about the defense’s performance Sunday and more!
