The leading rusher for the Commanders in Sunday’s win over the Giants? Chris Rodriguez, whose 52 yards on the ground came just hours after he officially found out he was going to be active with Brian Robinson unable to go.

“Saturday, coach told me there was a slight chance B-Rob might not play, so we’re gonna activate you and see how it goes from there,” Rodriguez told Grant & Danny on Monday. “When we got to the stadium, I prepared like I was gonna play, and 90 minutes before the game, coach came up to me and said, ‘youre going, be ready.’ And I said, ‘yes sir, I’ll be ready.’”

His 11 rushes tied Austin Ekeler for the team high as well, although again, Rodriguez didn’t anticipate the action he was going to see in the second half.
