Grant and Danny came back from commercial blaring “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” after the news became official that Dan Snyder had agreed to sell the Commanders to the Josh Harris group.
After rocking out to the fitting anthem, they both gave their celebratory reactions, which weren’t short on emotion.
“An absolutely incredible day in Washington D.C., and all over the DMV,” Grant said. “Prayers being answered. Dreams coming true. It’s over! The two-decade run of terror for Dan Snyder as owner of the Washington Commanders is officially over.”
Danny even felt his eyes welling up with joy.
“We knew this was coming, with all the different speed bumps and missteps,” Danny said. “I didn’t know how I’d honestly feel when this news was real. I’m exhausted. My eyes are glistening. I feel like I’m about to cry. I feel like a weight has been lifted.
“This is such a real, tangible thing. All we wanted to do was love the football team…and he’s gone, man. He’s gone. He can’t ruin it anymore. He can’t sue anybody. He can’t do any of the nonsense he’s done for decades…he can’t do anything more to ruin this once incredible franchise.”
