Grant & Danny sound off on Commanders only having five open practices

The Commanders only have five practices open to the public this summer, and Grant called out the ownership group for what he says is one of a very few “missteps” Josh Harris and company have made since taking over.

“I have been very positive about almost everything this ownership group has done. They are batting like .993,” Grant said. “I am Team Adam Peters. The limited number of practices is a misstep. It’s wrong. It’s incorrect. It’s not the right way to do it for a team that is looking to build its fanbase back up and create excitement.

“You need pizzazz. You are looking for people to reengage…you’re looking for folks to get back in, and to limit how often they can be at the facility watching football and getting excited - nothing gets fans more fired up for the season than getting to go watch a practice and get some autographs, take some pictures…that gets the juices flowing.”

Danny agrees that there should be more access for fans, especially for a franchise that has been dead last in the league in attendance.
Grant added that the team should act as if they are an “endangered species,” and do whatever they can to bring back fans.

“There are so few practices open to the public,” Danny said. “I wish that was different.”
