As offensive weapons are being signed to big contracts across the league, most recently Bears wide receiver DJ Moore, Grant and Danny wonder when one of the Commanders’ top offensive anchors will get his payday.
Both Grant and Danny agree that it’s time right guard Sam Cosmi was locked up long term.
“He’s one of the best guards in football…if they want to lock him up tonight, they can do it,” Grant said. “I feel like the sooner, the better. He’s only gonna be getting more and more credit around the league.”
Danny wonders if the current regime wants to wait and see with Cosmi, as he wasn’t their draft pick, but agrees that the evidence should be there that he is worth the investment. Grant says the Commanders should get to the negotiating table ASAP.
“I’m not really sure what we’re waiting for,” Grant said. “They have a lot of money this year, and plenty of money in the future. They have very little on the books beyond this year. They seem like a prime candidate to lock up a player, and Cosmi is waiting in the wings.”
