Grant's observations from Commanders training camp

Grant began his day in Ashburn on Thursday to take a look at Commanders training camp, and it only took one visit to see that there were already some noticeable differences from the previous regime.

Under Dan Snyder and Ron Rivera, Washington’s vibe was much more lax and scrambled, but now, things seemed much more efficient under new ownership and Dan Quinn.

“While the session was shorter than I anticipated…it was way more efficient of a practice than I’m used to in the last few years,” Grant said, noting the heat as a reason why the session was roughly 90 minutes.

“Here is a condensed way to get the same amount of work done. That is just a symbolic way to describe the efficiency…there is a little more than a targeted drill portion of the day. A lot more detail.”

In addition to the football operations, Grant also noticed a culture difference for those working for the Commanders in the Dan Snyder era.

“All of the employees there seem to be really want to be there,” Grant said. “It just set the tone. I enjoyed that part.”
