Get the posse ready, because we had part of ours on air today: Gary Clark joined BMitch and Finlay today, first reminding him that his best 40 time was even faster than JP found!
But in all seriousness, Clark, like many franchise alumni, is thrilled with where the Commanders organization stands when it comes to saluting their history and moving forward, and thrilled with how the team is currently playing.
“Winning tends to cure everything; when you win, people love you, and when you lose, people hate you,” Clark laughed. “The guys are playing great right now. As long as the defense keeps playing good, our offense is gonna be spectacular, and special teams are holding their own as well, so we can go far into the season.”
Clark has a strong relationship with Terry McLaurin, who has been here through the bad times, but the combo of McLaurin and Jayden Daniels is one Clark feels can be a foundation on offense for a long time.
“I think they can take the team extremely far. Terry is a beast; he reminds me of a combination of me, Art (Monk), and Ricky (Sanders), but a lot of Ricky in terms of how he catches the ball,” Clark said. “If it came near him, he was coming down with it, and that’s what Terry is. it just has to be somewhere near him and nine out of 10 times, he's going to catch the ball if he touches his hands. He's just an amazing receiver and a dedicated leader on the team; it's important you have leadership on that team, and I think Terry is doing a great job of doing that. as well as the young quarterback. He came in and did what most people don't do by not acting like the No. 1 guy; he came in acting like, what can I do to make this team better, and can you tell me what I need to do to help you guys make this team better? That right there completely made me look at him completely different. He knows what he’s doing.”
Take a listen to Clark’s entire visit above, as he re-lives some of the history of The Posse, gives his thoughts on the offense as a whole, and more!
