Jack Del Rio named head coach of the Paris Musketeers of the European League of Football

Jack Del Rio has a new home: France?

Indeed, Del Rio was named head coach of the Paris Musketeers of the fledgling European League of Football on Friday, after spending part of the 2024 season as a senior analyst for the University of Wisconsin.

Del Rio spent 15 years as an NFL head coach in Jacksonville, Denver, and Oakland, but has been out of the league since being fired as Commanders defensive coordinator mudwya through the 2023 season. He has a 93-94 career head coaching record that included three playoff berths, and he was the linebackers coach on the Ravens team that won Super Bowl XXXV.

The ELF, which runs in the summer, is entering its fifth season after being born out of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Currently at 16 teams across 10 countries for 2025, the league contains a handful of the former properties of NFL Europe – including the two-time defending champion Rhein Fire.

Jim Tomsula, the former 49ers head coach and Redskins defensive line coach, had been the most high-profile coach in the league previously, leading Rhein to its two championships, and there are a handful of players in the league with NFL or CFL experience.
