So, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, how would you self-scout yourself for Commanders fans waiting to see what their seventh-round pick looks like?
In fact, he gave himself a bit of a lofty comparison, thinking he could be like a couple of pretty dynamic dual-threat backs currently in the league.
“I like Alvin Kamara, I feel like he's a great back, I've been on Jahmyr Gibbs a lot too. Those are some of the guys I try to model my game after,” JCM said. “They're very smooth, and very hard, and they're playmakers, So, I love those guys. I'm just ready to get down there and show that I don't have a limit to myself, and can try to be able to do it all.”
But, he understands the fact that, even with his strong record at New Mexico and showing in the Shrine Bowl, and his good visits with the Commanders, the fact he only played one game at Arizona last year hampered his draft status.
“We did a couple of Zoom meetings, they ended up bringing me on the Top 30 visit, and I just love the coaches, the staff, the brotherhood that they have going on. I was super pumped to hear them call my name,” JCM said. “I think (the eligibility issues) affected my job start – I believe I’m a Day 1 or 2 guy. But, it’s all God, it worked out, and I’m super excited and ready to get to work.”
