Jameis Winston tells AWadd 'nothing surprised me' about Jayden Daniels' rookie season

If you heard JP Finlay mention during Tuesday’s show that he was upset he didn’t get to catch up with Jameis Winston during Monday’s Super Bowl media frenzy…have no fear, because one of our intrepid hosts DID!

Adam Epstein, aka our good friend AWadd, our Saturday morning host and the voice you hear daily from 12-3 p.m. on 910 The Fan in Richmond, hit up Famous Jameis and asked him one burning question: what has impressed you about Jayden Daniels’ rookie season?

“Well, nothing has surprised me about Jayden Daniels’ rookie season, because I think he was built for this,” Jameis told AWadd. “I’ve spent some time with him, I know his makeup, and he’s just electric, he’s smart, and he’s decisive. He didn't have any bad moments this year, man. I’m excited for what the Lord has in store for him and what he's capable of doing for the rest of his long NFL career.”

Jameis of course knows what it’s like to win a Heisman, be a top pick from a football powerhouse, and come in and set franchise rookie records left and right – but it’s following it up that counts. Winston did that, as in 2016 he became the first quarterback in NFL history to start his career with consecutive 4,000-yard passing seasons, so how does Jayden build on his now high expectations?

“He's a very process-oriented person, so I know right now he's in a book of how he can get better,” Winston said. “He's looking for ways to build, improve, and master his offense more and more, so that he can have an elite understanding of how he's gonna best have success in this NFL.”
