Jeff Nowak gives G&D a scouting report on how Will Harris became a force in New Orleans

Jeff Nowak is the sideline reporter for Saints broadcasts on our sibling station WWL in New Orleans, so there are very few who had the kind of access or knowledge as he did during the 2024 season.

So, when he joined Grant & Danny Tuesday after the Commanders signed defensive back Will Harris, well, he was able to give the guys some insight into exactly why he is an Adam Peters and Dan Quinn kind of signing – a ‘true Commander,’ as they would say.

“Will came in last offseason on a minimum contract and wasn’t penciled into the rotation. He made himself into a starter,” Nowak said. “When they were beating up on Dallas in Week 2 last year, he had a monster hit on CeeDee Lamb. That's what Will Harris is – one of those guys you throw in the secondary, basically a small linebacker, who is going to come up and make hits. He’s good in run support, too, but I don't think he's at his best as a single-high safety.”
