Johnny 'Cakes' Auville officially baptized as a Commanders fan
Congratulations, John Auville…for YOU are now a Commanders fan!
If you missed our 106.7 The Fan Live event at the Tally Ho Theatre in Leesburg on Friday night, you missed a hell of a lot – but in Junks world, the big news was that Cakes FINALLY broke, and the guys were able to steal him away from his previous allegiances and into the burgundy and gold family.
EB would like to do something on the show to commemorate it even further, but, it’s on!
“It’s done! I’m in!” Cakes said on Monday's show. “If you want to do a follow-up ceremony, it seems very ornate to do it again, but whatever. I’ll do all the sacraments!”
The picture posted on The 106.7 The Fan X account missed the holy water (which may or may not have been Scotty’s Vodka, Surfside, or something other than water), but you get the idea:
Sure, it probably helps that the Raiders are a dumpster fire and Washington went 12-5 and is set up for long-term success, but as we say in the industry, better late than never!
“The barrier to entry to be a Commanders fan should be zero,” Cakes said. “They’ve been so bad for 30 years! I feel like there are all these hurdles being put up for me to become a fan, but that’s fine!”
“He’s only a fan for one reason, one player,” Bish shot back, and yeah, we get it, Zach Ertz does rule…
