We've heard a lot about ESPN's Mike Clay's positional rankings list this week, and his latest lists look at the defensive line – where, in the rankings released late Wednesday, he had the Commanders No. 8!
Bish and EB had both seen the list before the discussion, Cakes felt they'd be middle of the pack "around 15 or 17," and JP thought they might be somewhere in the twenties…so when he found out they were in the Top 10, he could only say "they're going on potential."
"He thinks Chase Young can have a huge year," Bish said, to which EB replied: "this is why they had our QB at 32 – not saying it should be in the 15s or anything, but they're going on reputation, because these guys' reputation is far better than what they actually are."
"What if this is the year Montez Sweat and Young both get to double-digit sacks?" Cakes asked. "That would be a Top 10 unit!"
The guys then discussed how great it would be if Young came out playing like gangbusters…and of course had some thoughts about how bizarre some of Clay's rankings were.
Listen to the whole discussion at the beginning of the clip above – and stay tuned for a Junks Improv class after a huge scheduled guest was unable to call in, and maybe tomorrow for them to talk about the Commanders' interior line being ranked even higher!
