On Friday, we heard what Grant & Danny had to say about Chris Simms’ 2023 quarterback rankings and Sam Howell ranking 39th out of 40, ahead of only Desmond Ridder.
On Monday, it was the Junkies’ turn, and, well…they’re not upset, maybe a little surprised, but not upset?
“I have no problem with anything he said there at all – I agree with it,” EB said. “He hasn’t done anything. He can rank him wherever he wants.”
“The problem with the ranking, if you’re a Commanders fan is that he has Heinicke at 33, and three rookies who have never stepped on the field ranked ahead of him,” JP replied.
“Just last year he had Jaen Hurts ranked 25th, Carson Wentz 19th, and Mac Jones 18th, so I take it with a grain of salt and don’t really take it that seriously,” Cakes said. "But he's the biggest question mark starter in the NFL."
“Nobody’s list means anything, but I liked all the things he said, though,” EB said. “He said all positive things, but it’s all speculation. The proof is in the pudding and we’ll know later this season.”
Bish’s take is that, of course, these rankings change every year, and then, EB got it for his love/hate relationship with Taylor Heinicke.
“I think Howell will prove to be a better version of Heinicke, but how much better remains to be seen,” EB said. “We’ll see.”
“You’re going to take this Taylor Heinicke thing to the grave!” Cakes laughed before giving EB this: “Heinicke has a job, and Carson Wentz is the equivalent of a guy in the median with a piece of cardboard begging for spare change!”
Listen to their whole conversation, which turned into a Heinicke/Howell (and even Wentz) debate, above!
