Junkies react to Jayden Daniels being named QB1: 'Anything else would have been shenanigans'

It became official while the Junkies were on the air Tuesday: Jayden Daniels will start Saturday against the Jets, making him QB1 on the Commanders’ first unofficial depth chart.

Long national anti-climactic nightmare over, shortly after the guys spent an hour discussing the possibility this wouldn’t happen?

“This is why I said it was much ado about nothing in the first place,” JP Flaim said. “We did two segments of calls about the possibility he wouldn't be named QB1 and wouldn't start, and Chris Russell needs to call back and apologize.”

“I was on with Grant yesterday and he threw out the whole idea that he may not be listed as QB1, and also thought it was crazy,” EB replied.

So how do we feel about it now that it’s official?

“Well, Dan passed the first test, with flying colors,” Valdez said, and when EB said “anything else would have been shenanigans,” Valdez added: “That would have been Ron. Everyone here is still in Ron mode, and we gotta change our brains.”

“This was the right move,” EB continued. “You don't want to give a kid anything, but he's passed every test with flying colors so far. I have guys that have been out to camp DMing me that it's not even close, like he's just blowing everybody away. He's the guy. So what are you gonna do, name him No. 2? It made no sense. My head was exploding at the mere thought of thinking that he would do anything otherwise. Of course I’m right again!”

“I said that and told you there was no reason to get worked up!” JP fired back, with Valdez once again saying EB has “Ron brain.”
