Junkies: Was trading Jahan Dotson to Philly a good or bad move?

It was the Scotty’s Vodka Junkies Poll of the Day on Friday: Was trading Jahan Dotson to the Eagles a good or bad move?

Answers ranged all across the spectrum of yes and no, for sure, but with only two choices, the poll was roughly 50/50 when the guys discussed it – and they understand the negative half.

“I don't think people love trading a guy in the division,” JP said.

“The fact it was the Eagles was the biggest stunner,” EB replied, “and I’m fine with it if they’ve evaluated it. They only play him twice.”

“What if that was the best offer?” Bish shot back.

Tweets along with the poll showed that range of why it was yes or no, as well as other team thoughts, but perhaps one Junk boiled it all down to a baseline:

“I think a lot of people really liked him and still were clinging to the thought he could still be the guy, and then others, they really like the new regime and just want to trust them, you know what I mean?” EB said. “They still get the benefit of the doubt.”

“If this is a precursor, like some people do think that, for another move to upgrade that position, then obviously it's a very good move,” Bish said. “If it's not and they just don't like Dotson to what they want to do offensively and they are just building picks for the future, then I think that hurts the team this year. Not that Dotson's great, but I just think that they're depleted offensively. What if McLaurin gets hurt and misses four or five games, what do they do?

EB doesn’t think so, and JP wonders what if Olamide Zaccheaus blows up and the combo of him, Dyami Brown, and Luke McCaffrey works – and you can listen to it all above!
