The Commanders got the win, secured a 7-2 home record, and clinched a playoff berth by beating Atlanta on Sunday night, but Jeremy Reaves got something bigger when the game ended: forever.
Reaves proposed to girlfriend Mikaela Worley in the end zone following the Commanders’ big win, and we’re happy to report that she said YES!
Reaves called Mikaela out of the crowd following the win for the big question – which he told the media, including our own JP Finlay, on the scene for NBC4 Sports, that he would have waited for had the Commanders lost – and he later tweeted that he was ‘glad we got to share that moment with the best fans in the world!’
Reaves also shared an inspiring Instagram post following the engagement, chronicling how one year ago, Worley - who is a physician assistant now but is also an athlete, having played collegiate volleyball at Louisiana-Monroe - was with him in the hospital as he underwent surgery for a torn ACL just months after a Pro Bowl season, and is now his wife to be.
Congratulations to the future Mr. & Mrs. Reaves, who got all the love from his teammates!
