Mike Tice spent more than 20 years in the NFL, all of it as either an offensive line or tight ends coach, offensive coordinator, or head coach – so he has seen A LOT of good and bad when it comes to the guys in the trenches.
So, if he had Josh Conerly rated as the best tackle on his board coming into the 2025 NFL Draft, you know the Commanders got a good one.
He did have Ohio State’s Josh Simmons, who went No. 32 overall to the Chiefs, highly-rated as well, even as those two were the fourth and fifth tackles (and sixth and seventh OL) taken in Round 1, so he’s glad that the Commanders had a strong choice.
